Cocktails and Books

To tell you the truth, it was the cover that grabbed my interest. I had been reading some pretty heavy books, and I was searching for a palate cleanser. Those adorable socks with the green snowflake background looked cheerful, and I was really in the mood for cheerful. I'd never heard of Sommer Marsden, and I'm so glad to have discovered this one.
I don't like to give away spoilers, but I can tell you that it's never been hotter to have a broken thermostat in the middle of winter. Natalie needs to get Jon, the live in handyman, to come and help her out. Her apartment is sweltering. She gets in touch with him in a terribly amusing way, and it all takes off from there.
This is a very short story. At 53 pages, it took me less than an hour to read it, but it was one of the most enjoyable hours I've had in a very long time. If you need a break from all of the hustle and bustle of December and all it's trappings, this is for you. You'll fall in love with Natile and Jon, and you'll smile a mile wide.
