Cocktails and Books

I wasn't sure what to expect from SUBORDINATION, but I pleasantly surprised and just how much I loved the relationship between Sophie and Wiliam.
Sophie has spent the past five years at a Domme at an exclusive club in Atlanta. While she's not into the D/s lifestyle, it pays for her schooling and ensures her father and brother can remain on their farm. On her last night at the club, she meets a sub who is the first to ever spark her interest. She gives into the feelings, playing for fun, before she leaves that world behind and starts her new life back home as a high school teacher. But Sophie is in for the shock of her life when her Domme world and her new teacher one collide.
I loved Sophie and William. They instantly clicked with one another in the club, but that chemistry was still there outside too. I loved how their roles reversed when they were outside the bedroom. William was anything but submissive in most situations and Sophie, while sharp-tongued, was not always the bossy woman. I was glad they didn't have a classic D/s relationship, even if that might have been something William would have had in the past. They needed to have the other take charge at times and I don't think a traditional D/s relationship would have worked for them.
SUBORDINATION was my first Kristen Ashley book, but it's sparked my interest in her backlist. The story she created was thoroughly engaging, with characters that had heart. I absolutely enjoyed this book. It's definitely one that should be picked up.
