This was okay. Enjoyable enough. Lighthearted romance with suspense/mystery elements. Annie was okay - she was kind of a nothing character. There wasn't really anything there to recommend or to hate. Drew was all over the place and it kind of felt repetitive with his "I want her but I should leave her" thoughts. Light, quick beach read. 2 stars.
The first half of this story was really intense and I felt that it was a bit too over the top with the drama and then the plot just fizzled and went completely dead.
I did not feel anything but a 'hook up' vibe from both the main characters and once they did spend the night together, they were both talking about lifetime commitments and families. Just too much too soon and had my eyes rolling more than once.
There were numerous errors where I had to stop and re-read to get the meaning of what the author was trying to say. I also felt like the author was trying to write smut but it was just a little too wholesome. Swearing one minute and then referring to birthday suits and feeding souls in the one paragraph just doesn't work in my opinion.
Not sure if this author is my style. I may try some more of her work down the track.
