Absolutely adorable and amazingly sweet, this tiny novella managed to capture my heart and give me the warm and fuzzies. Such a cute little glimpse into the relationship between Cara and Aelyx, that I couldn't help but grin crazily while reading.
Until Midnight was so cute! Cara is on route to L'eihr and only has twenty-four hours left until Aelyx must return to Earth. It's also the week before Christmas, so she's feeling especially down. But then Aelyx gets this brilliant idea to recreate the holiday for her as best as he can. Of course, since he's never celebrated it before, there are quite a few mishaps. In addition to the adorable Christmas cheer, there's also some mentions of the tension between humans and the L'eihr, which does not bode well for Invaded.
I really enjoyed Until Midnight. It is a solid novella. It's quick, cute, and prepares readers for the next book without feeling like filler material. Aelyx's quest to bring Christmas to space was so funny and reminded me of Jack Skellington trying to explain this "new" holiday to the Halloween folk. There's no context, so it just seems weird! He does his best though, and the results were sweet even when he messed up.
