A long since dead ghost hires an exorcist to end his lonely existence, but then finds a reason to want to "live" again. That is the awesomely awesome premise of Ghosts of the Falls. I was very impressed with this novella! I'm not exactly a fan of ghosts, but the exorcist angle had me intrigued. Jade Clarence answers the call for the exorcism, but of course she doesn't know that the man, Dutch, who called is also the ghost to be rid of. Then as she attempts to bind the soul to its gave, Dutch disappears and she realizes what's happening. Lucky for Dutch, Jade doesn't want to just get rid of him, she wants to help him, but doesn't know how. Then they grow feelings for each other and the situation becomes a bit more complicated.
I love the romance in Ghosts of the Falls! It's totally unique, and sweet, and sexy! If you ever wondered how ghost sex would work, check this one out! Sure Dutch is strong enough to become corporeal, but he also does things to Jade when he's not solid! Oh my! In addition to the great romance, I just enjoyed the actual story here. There's a lot of emotion for being so short. Dutch is lonely and desperate while Jade is compassionate and stubborn. They come together and it's magic. I adored that little twist toward the end, too. This is one of those novellas that I wish were a series! But it certainly works as it is.
