Under the Hood is a quick and cute romance about Alice, an auto mechanic, and Mark, a divorce attorney. Both happen to cater to women in their respective careers. One morning when Mark's car won't start, Alice offers him a jump, and he asks her out. On their date she notices some parts which his car needs and says she can order them for him. Well, Mark knows exactly what she's talking about, but accepts her help in order to see her again. He feels bad for deceiving her, but at least he's not outright lying. Right?
Aside from the romance, there's also a little side plot involving Alice's new garage and Mark's angry aunt. For being so short, it didn't feel forced just to have a plot, so I liked that. However, the whole time I was anticipating the inevitable "You lied to me! Don't speak to me again. *jump forward a couple weeks* I'm sorry, I love you!" fight and makeup. Luckily, there is no big blow out, since it's obvious that Alice jumped to conclusions about Mark's car knowledge. She is upset, but they move past it. All in all, Under the Hood was cute, but nothing too special.
