Wasn't what I was expecting. I've read a lot of stories about non-consensual sex and slavery. This one just doesn't do it for me. The characters are not developed, probably because the story is so short. I found that, like the merman, I didn't care if the humans lived or died. I like stuff more like Kitty Thomas or Skye Warren. You have an investment in the characters.
