The great thing about this book is that the pictures are irrelevant. I’m not saying the pictures are not well done, they are actually quite lovely (and look the part of a children’s book) however I listened to this on audio and enjoyed it immensely…if not more because of Bryan Cranston. Bryan Cranston is the actor who played Walter White on Breaking Bad, and he has the perfect agitated voice for the role of the parent who wants their kid to just sit down and eat for once.
It’s not the most groundbreaking book or the most well written, but it is hilarious. Because seriously I don’t even have kids of my own and I’ve had to deal with this. I’ve had to help feed kids, who somehow think they can make it through the day without it, and I know we’ve all seen the parent who has to growl-beg their kid in the restaurant It’s nothing to be ashamed of, and that’s why it’s great to see a book that points out the humor without being preachy or giving out advice that probably won’t work.
It’s a fun one, and it’s even better on audio!
