This book offers Blane's thoughts regarding his fledgling relationship with Kathleen. Some of those thoughts are quite suprising! Blane may be ex-SEAL and high profile lawyer, but he's clearly clueless when it comes to Kathleen. She is a breath of fresh air to him and so unlike the social climbing, money grabbing arm-candy he usually dates.
Additionally, Tiffany takes us back in time seventeen years to when Blane finds and brings home Kade from the orphanage. The building of their relationship is a slow and difficult process for both brothers, each having to adapt and learn to trust each another. This part of their back story ends when Blane departs to begin SEAL training. Warning, you'll need tissues to wipe away your tears.
I gained new respect for Kade after reading about his early years and struggles. You catch a tiny glimpse of a young man that isn't quite as ruthless as he makes you believe. Just watch him head home because Mona was making waffles! ((sigh))
