How judgemental for people to assume that porn stars can’t have love and meaningful relationships. Everyone is entitled to love and whether you’re a porn star, a politician, a teacher or a builder, if you want love and a relationship it takes time and work. Yes, working in the porn industry may make things awkward and maybe even a little intimidating, but the career does not make the person and the person does not always make the career.
This story brought a smile to my face. The characters became my friends, a few I had met before in Decker’s Wood and it was great to see them again. Bradley, who lives in London and chooses to go by his last name, Emerson, is a workaholic. As a favour to Decker and his cousin Andi (who are both in lovey, dovey lala land) Bradley agrees to let a porn star having some paparazzi problems come and stay awhile. When Wiska arrives with Casey and Lionel (Andi’s gay neighbours) tagging along, Bradley’s ready to kill Decker for dumping them in his lap.
Both Bradley and Wiska have insta-lust at first sight. Hardly surprising considering he’s a good looking bloke and she’s a sweet looking porn star with D cups. Wiska and Bradley are not interested in a relationship as they have both been burned previously. This does not follow the lines of a few other romances where they instantly set up the parameters for a no-strings sexual relationship. Wiska is not that sort of girl. Quite often she is judged solely on her job and TBH I found it hard to take my moral cap off and not judge her myself. Once we get to know Wiska, see how she was brought up, what made her start in the industry and her plans for the future, you realise that any preconceived ideas about porn stars do not apply to her.
There are a lot of issues and problems for this couple to overcome to find their HEA. To start with, they live in different countries. Bradley’s job is a big mystery to his family and friends. He felt he had to keep his job a secret for their safety. To make it easier to keep the secret, he lived as far away from them as possible. Wiska leaves New York to escape the cameras and paps. Bradley doesn’t want to tell Wiska his job and Wiska doesn’t want to tell Bradley what the paparazzi is hounding her for. Eventually they both realise that they have to share their secrets for their relationship to work.
I enjoyed Bradley’s Whistle for the humour and sweetness this couple showed to each other. I laughed at the sexual terms/descriptions/names…everything sexual in this book was funny. Surprisingly this book is not full of sex. Yes, they talk about it a lot and they think about it even more. Bradley and Wiska together are a great couple and I loved seeing all their bridges crossed and locks clicking into place. I loved Casey and Lionel, liked Aeden and Floyd and hated Davina and Kasper. Bradley’s Whistle left me with a smile on my face and content to know that love finds its way…even to porn stars :-) ♥
