This course is written to cover the Sierra Leone Primary syllabus in Environmental and Social Studies. There are six "Pupil's Books" in the series. Books 1, 2 and 3 are illustrated in full colour. The remaining books use two-colour artwork, maps and many black and white photographs specially taken for this series. The language level is controlled and each book contains a balanced combination of content and practical activities for groups and individuals. The layout is designed to make pupils want to learn about themselves, their environment and their country. A Teacher's Book is available for each of the Pupil's Books. This provides a wealth of background information and suggestions for the following: teaching environmental and social studies; planning and evaluation; teaching methods; using the course; maps skills; interpreting pictures and diagrams.
