Lullingstone Roman Villa, in the idyllic Darent valley, was built in about AD 100 and occupied for more than 300 years by a succession of rich owners, possibly even a future Roman Emperor. The discovery of a fourth-century house-church, unique in Britain, makes it one of the most important Roman sites in the country.
