This was okay. I had kind of figured it out by the end, which isn't a good sign because I'm terrible at thrillers.

The very first page really hooks you right off the bat. Seriously! It starts with an opening scene so full of suspense that my emotions went tumbling within the first 5 minutes of reading. Books like this really pique my interest and prompt me to dive right in!

The creepy factor definitely lingers throughout the entire book and the twists were steady and consistent. I really like how Margot and Agatha’s friendship progressed, and the subtle romance with Barrett was just enough to add another dynamic to the plot without taking away from the main story or it’s gothic vibes. I do wish we learned a smidgen more background of the Sutton family history, but overall….. this is a solid read!

I recommend it to anyone who enjoys an eery gothic story without the typical gore or intense violence often seen in the genre.
