I remember when we were attending a church that hired outside daycare professionals under contract to run the nursery classes while we adults were in church or Sunday School. The ladies were great and very involced in wanting to share about numbers and colors and general nursery rhymes with the itty bitties, but there was not an ounce of Bible lesson or ministry coming from them. As one worker told me they were hired out from a secular fulltime daycare and just continued the same lessons.
...Yet then another scenario I have encountered is where they do not teach anything in the nursery age classes and just consider the wee ones to young to learn. Just listen to lullabies, snack time and play with whatever toys.
While both encounters is safe and a generally positive environment... knowing that classes with a ministry guide like this are possible I wish there was one like it available near us.
Babies and Woddlers is full of ideas to teach faith in the nursery. From having a teacher full on prater to dividing the areas inti different ministry spots and discovery areas. Full of great posters and inspirational messages, this guide is very useful. It even has monthly messages to share with appropriate short activities and verses.
Going from birth-18 months, your child is never too young to be wrapped in the message of God's love and learning that Jesus is their friend.
