European economic integration is one of the key challenges for managment in the 1990s. As well as the question of expanding the scope of business, the impetus lies on rethinking the whole management process within a European frame of reference. This text responds to these challenges and furnishes the reader with a wide understanding of human resource problems in European business. The textbook is organized into three modules: module A deals with the special issue of managing human resource in a European context. The basic aim of module B is to provide a synthesis of knowledge about Europeanization and corporate culture, in order to raise awareness of the specific corporate culture issues in a transnational European company. Finally, module C offers an overview of different European approaches to industrial relations. The book is designed to meet the expectations of students as well as practitioners. It can be used as a teachig text at universities and business schools or as a self-study tool for human resource managers operating in a European context.
