I was honestly nervous about Luisa being a good match for my boy. I mean, she is all sweet and innocent, loves her parents, works hard, keeps her nose clean, and all that wholesome goodness that Javier, well, just isn't. But after spending some time with that bastard Salvador, she gets a thick skin, and fast, and learns that maybe she wasn't being true to herself after-all, she just didn't know who her true self was until Javier comes into her life.
Javier is the kind of guy that pushes your limits, crosses the line, learns what you can handle, and knows without asking what you need. And then gives it to you, in spades. On top of all the drama with Luisa, he is trying to recapture his empire after what happened at the end of Bold Tricks (again, no spoilers) so his hold on his men and his cartel is still tenuous at best. Unstable at worst. His right hand man, Esteban, is his best ally and I have a feeling also his worst enemy. Some of the other guys he has in his circle are creepy as hell and I certainly wouldn't want to be on their bad side. So my poor dear Javier has to walk a tight rope in holding onto his empire and yet getting what he wants, no what he NEEDS, with Luisa and his heart.
While you don't have to have read The Artists Trilogy by Halle, I do suggest it. I am not sure if you would love Javier like I do if you don't know what he has gone through to get where he is now. And I do hope to see more of him, sooner rather than later. Please and thank you.
