Using his knowledge of the world of corporate dealing and financial services, Peter Brown has created a satirical tale of wheeler-dealing, love, greed and betrayal, set against the most contemporary of backgrounds. Sammy Salt is an East End entrepreneur with grand ideas who prefers to be known as Sammy Salter. Never one to pass up a good business opportunity, Sammy sees a connection between a trailer park full of old and slightly dilapidated caravans and the homeless plight of refugees in Africa. Soon the caravans are on their way to Africa, Sammy has founded a charity called The Salter Trust, and his name is all over the tabloid newspapers as "a man of the people", cutting through bureaucracy and coming to the aid of the refugee Africans. Needless to say this is not quite the whole story, and Sammy's web of intrigue and half-truths becomes more and more tangled, drawing in several very glamorous women and a knight of the realm.
