This was an interesting concept for a story and I was enjoying it until the story comes to an abrupt halt three-quarters of the way through and goes back in time to give us the long-drawn out background of the original characters. It completely destroyed the flow of the story and I was less interested is listening to the drawn out backgrounds of the conquistadors and just wanted to get back to the current story. If you were going to throw the story off it's flow, a shorter breakdown was all that was needed.
