The Great Blue Heron Experience started out as a photographic quest to capture a group of blue herons with a camera lens. The experience ended up being more about humans than herons and what they may have in common. What follows is a selection of ordinary and spectacular photographs woven together with the photographer's musings about the heron, the community of earth's inhabitants and himself. Please join us for an adventure into the human spirit as it interacts with other important members of earth's creatures. The rookery, or heronry, is located around Seattle near the shores of Lake Washington.
