Sookie ends up eventually in New Orleans, to clear up after her cousin's death, her cousin who was the paramour of the local vampire queen. Eric forces Bill to admit why he had returned to Bon Temps and meanwhile someone is apparently hunting her. Quinn and Sookie start dating, which has mixed results

Look Sookie, after a while you have to stop mourning the normal you can never have back and you start playing with the deck of cards you've been dealt and try to make the best of it, occasionally you can look back and mourn the possibilities, but the past is a place you can't fix, only the present.

It's not bad but I had moments where I wanted to lecture Sookie about just facing up to life as it is.

Number 6 already and I liked this one. Though I wasn't a big fan of Sookies latest love interest, Quinn (still rooting for Eric tbh), I really liked some other new characters such as Amelia, Andre and Rasul. So I'm hoping to read about them some more in the next one.

Definitely Dead is the sixth Sookie Stackhouse book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have to say that I’m finally getting used Charlaine Harris’ writing style, with the jerky storylines that intertwine somehow yet we don’t figure out till the end.

Yet one thing about this book that thoroughly confused me was that this book referred to a very important storyline about Sookie’s cousin Hadley and the fact that she had been a vampire and had met her true death recently. Yet I did not remember reading this storyline anywhere. It confused me so much that I stopped reading this book and flipped through the last book just to see if I had missed it. Which is silly because I started this book the same day I finished the last book so I was sure I hadn’t read about it.

I then chanced it and googled it and found out that the very important storyline that this whole book refers to actually happened in a short story that was written and released before this book… Talk about annoying. It only annoyed me because there was no indication in the book I was reading that there was a short story that I should read before it.

But once I figured that out I was able to settle in to read Definitely Dead. I didn’t go back and read the short story, I was able to get the gist of it from the recap in this book. I didn’t know the details and some details were confusing as they weren’t described in detail in this book but I was able to follow along for the most part.

This book is once again exciting, intriguing and had me trying to figure what was going on the whole way through. In this book Sookie starts up dating a new guy named Quinn. She met Quinn at the were pack’s ceremony in the last book where Alcide’s father and another were competed to become the packmaster. Quinn was the organiser of the event. He is also a were-tiger. Exciting much?!

At the very beginning of this book Quinn asks Sookie out. On the first date Sookie is attacked buy were’s and Quinn ends up taking her to a were only bar and challenges the pack by letting them know that their were’s attacked an innocent unprovoked. Alcide happens to be in this bar with his new girlfriend. My heart broke again haha. This challenge lets every wear know that Sookie is under Quinn’s protection as well as in enforces them to do something about it.

This date starts up a sudden dating relationship for the whole book, except after the first date Quinn kind of disappears as Sookie is suddenly picked up to be taken to her cousin’s apartment by orders of the vampire Queen of Louisiana to sort out her final affairs. I thought this was rather sudden as we don’t hear about Quinn for half of the book. Then I remembered that it’s only been a couple of days for that half of the book so it wasn’t surprising.

While at Hadley’s old apartment Sookie is dragged into affairs of the Queen and her new marriage, as well as unfinished business that Hadley had left behind. I found there were so many things going on in this book that I couldn’t help but wonder how Harris managed to keep track of it all. But by the end of the book I found everything tied up in some way, and the things that didn’t I knew would carry on to the next book.

I loved that this book was so involved, there was something going on at every moment. I was hooked.

Overall this book made me need to pick up the next book. Regardless of any library books I have. It was such an exciting book that I swear I practically held my breath the whole time I read it.

Another installment in the Sookie series. It was an interesting read and storyline. There's something about these books that make me continue reading them, probably just to see what happens next in this world. I do love Eric and I love to see what happens with him.

Sookie hears that her cousin has died and leaves to New New York with Bill to get her stuff. While there they meet with queen Sophie-Anne and she hears something disturbing about Bill. Sookie’s relationship with Quinn takes step further. While I like Quinn I hate that he says all the time Babe. It drives me nuts!

While not being bad, I think this was the weakest book so far. I didn’t really get the point of this story at all (assuming there was one?).

Some parts (the relationship parts) of this series keep getting better. Maybe because Sookie’s moving further away from Bill with each book? I now feel totally justified in my dislike of him from the start, plus, I like Sookie with a shapeshifter. Unfortunately, the plot here wasn’t that great. It seemed a little cobbled together, like the author just needed a reason to get Sookie out of town and to New Orleans for a while. There’s a couple of small bombshells dropped that will impact later books, but overall, the plot didn’t do much to further Sookie’s story (and the reenactment stuff was just plain weird). Though now that I’m thinking of it, what *is* Sookie’s story arc? I’m really not sure. I’m not a fan of Bill, but I would like to see Sookie interact more with Eric and Pam again.

Just like the previous Stackhouse books this was wonderfully put together and flowed nicely. It even explains some things that help pull things together more securely, and even helps close some loose ends relationship wise. Very very good book, and I'm eager to start the next one
