This is a great new shifter series by Eve Langlais. She is known for creating a fun, hilarious and sexy stories, not matter what creature the character is or turns into. I was first introduced to Eve with [b:Lucifer's Daughter|8774296|Lucifer's Daughter (Princess of Hell, #1)|Eve Langlais|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1281100002s/8774296.jpg|13647806] (Princess of Hell Trilogy), which I highly recommend.

This book starts of with our human heroine, Tammy, grilling a steak over the belongings of her ex-boyfriend who not only cheated on her, but constantly called her fat. Tammy isn't the perfect model looking heroine that we see in a lot of romance books, she is a little on the heavier side. I love that Eve is willing to make her heroine a "real" woman who eats and is not a size 2.

She is forced to go to Alaska to look into an insurance claim that our hero has filed about several trucks, full of supplies, that have been disappearing along with the drivers. She meets the owner of the truck company, a man named Reid. Reid is former special forces military. Oh, and he is a shifter, Kodiak bear, to be exact.

While in Kodiak Point, Alaska, Tammy meets Reid's grandmother, Ursula. I love this woman. She is a great character, even though she doesn't have a huge part in this story and I don't think we will see much of her in future books. She is a wily one.

Back to Tammy, she is a tough girl for being a city girl in the backwoods of Alaska. She at one point hits Reid in the head with a cast-iron frying pan. Then goes on to shot him in the ass with a round of silver buckshot, while he is a bear. When he shifts back to human, she does help to dig out the shots.

This book is a great read for anyone who likes to read shifter books. It was a ton of fun and a great new shifter world. Book two is out and book three will be out later this year. I have seen the author post on Facebook about book four. You can bet that I will be purchasing all of these on release day.
