The moment when Ari and Dane see each other across a bar for the first time Ari could feel his eyes on her from across the room, then when Dane saved her from an overeager bar patron they both new there was something there.
Ari a wedding planner is trying to live her life as quietly has possible. Her parent’s very messy divorce impacted her in such a negative way she doesn’t allow anyone to get to close to her emotionally and physically. She applied for a job at the new resort hotel that Dane just happens to own but unfortunately never got an interview.
Dane was orphaned at a very young age his aunt raised him but also died young so it was just him with a lot of money available to him. When he realizes that Ari applied at his hotel he does all he can to not only give her a job but make her events director for the hotel. Sparks fly for both of them and they fall hard for each other that is until Dane’s past starts to catch up to him in many different ways.
I really enjoyed this from beginning to end. Told in Ari’s POV you can feel her struggle with her parents, her sometimes lack of confidence and ultimately her love for Dane. I also love the fact that while Dane is the typical Alpha male who will protect what’s his at all costs she does except him for who he is but still knows what she can live with. She makes some hard choices especially at the end of the book and is firm with her beliefs. The author does a great job describing the different situations, the environment and does a good job with the dialog. I happen to live in Arizona where the story takes place and she does a great job with the overall feel of the desert landscape – something that is not always easy to do. Your meet a few secondary characters who have a large role in Ari and Dane’s romance who I also really liked.
At the end you think you get your HEA but I have to warn the readers there is a second book set up at the end for a book that comes out early next year. I know I will definitely be looking forward to that.
