This work introduces a design strategy that aims to provide an answer to the desolate situation of the city, especially in its sprawling periphery. The city is understood as the place of simultaneous events, in which the old and the new, the regular and the irregular meet and mix. The author, as an architect, has contributed to the European avant-garde during the recent years; he develops, in theory and with his own building projects, how the application of this strategy can lead to positive changes.
