This Christmas fantasy is a fascinating children's story, but it's also a reminder that Christmas is a good time for everybody to remember those who are less fortunate and need our help. When young Arthur unwraps his gift on Christmas morning he is delighted to see that it's a Glimatron 5000. For those who don't know, a Glimatron is truly an awesome little device because it toots and puffs and rings and shakes and flies and twinkles like a thousand stars. There is almost nothing that a Glimatron can't do. Arthur runs outside to try it out, and as he puts it through its many paces, he meets poor Mr. Bear, an unlucky vagrant who has been left out in the cold for the holidays. Arthur feels sorry for Mr. Bear and lends him his new Glimatron to cheer him up. Mr. Bear shows his appreciation by giving Arthur a magic button from the Orient. When Arthur returns home, his father decides that his son has been cheated. Angry, he hurries outside to settle the affair with Mr. Bear. And that is when the button truly works its magic! Boys and girls will be enchanted by the ending of this warmhearted Christmas tale. (Ages 4-7)
