This series entitled "Discovering nature", is designed to encourage children to discover more about the natural world. The present volume looks at deer and discusses the many different types living in the forests and grasslands of the world. The author discusses the differing appearance of the various species, noting their size, which can range from that of a small dog to a horse as in the case of the Alaskan moose, and their colouring which can include white or spotted areas. Their attributes as good swimmers with well developed senses of sight, hearing and smell are considered as well as their habitat, their food and family life. The majority of titles in this series have been written and illustrated by Oxford Scientific Films Ltd.
