These investigation packs are designed to support and expand on the "I Was There" history series. Each one has been prepared by a working teacher and tested in the classroom. The packs include photocopiable material and contain 10 photographs selected from an "I Was There" book, reproduced on laminated cards. Each pack also carries 10 investigation cards with questions, a map, timeline, assessment grid and a teacher's guide. Within a framework that allows pupils to be assessed under the National Curriculum Statements of Attainment, "Pyramids and the structure of Egyptian society" offers opportunities for investigative learning both individually and in groups. Including negotiated learning and pupil-centred techniques, the pupils are encouraged to use a variety of methods of presentation, and may make cross-curricular links or become involved in theme work. This pack meets the syllabus requirement, "A Non-European Society" within the National Curriculum Key Stage 2.
