However, Secret Admirer took us much longer to read because the interest just wasn't there. In the earliest reader books I'm not too interested in matchmaking and romance for my girls and they're were more into requesting [b:The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe|100915|The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)|C.S. Garis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347441507s/175222.jpg|169273] and of course the new [b:Amelia Bedelia Road Trip!|17331275|Amelia Bedelia Road Trip! (Amelia Bedelia Chapter Books, #3)|Herman Parish|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1364846082s/17331275.jpg|24034553] chapter books. We LOVE Fancy Nancy and cannot wait to get our hands on [b:Fancy Nancy: Nancy Clancy Sees the Future|17349095|Fancy Nancy Nancy Clancy Sees the Future|Jane O'Connor|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1376473586s/17349095.jpg|24090148] as some how we missed that one and the latest [b:Fancy Nancy: Nancy Clancy, Secret of the Silver Key|18599643|Fancy Nancy Nancy Clancy, Secret of the Silver Key|Jane O'Connor|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388956334s/18599643.jpg|26365807] has just arrived. I have much higher hopes for these. There are plenty of ways to tell a mystery for young readers that is not all caught up in the romance.

However, with all that said, in the end I do enjoy how the book was written and the things that the girls did. Since these books do not truly have to build upon each other in a series... I'd suggest that this one would be find if you had an older, preteen reading it, but would skip it for the youngest section of Fancy Nancy chapter book readers.
