Microsoft's VBScript, a simplified version of Visual Basic (VB), is a powerful, easy-to-learn tool that can add interaction to web pages. VBScript is upwardly compatible to Visual Basic for Applications, which is upwardly compatible with VB. VBScript is a pure interpreter that processes source code embedded directly in HTML documents and is a valuable alternative to JavaScript in activating web pages. VBScript is the major scripting language for Active Server Pages (ASP).
