The author examines what a shark is and how there are many different types of sharks living in different areas of the world, in a variety of environments to which they are adapted. The great white shark, thresher sharks, hammerhead and whale sharks are featured, as are dogfish, rays and some unusual sharks. The book describes the different parts of a shark and how they reproduce. Malcolm Penny has travelled on many wildlife expeditions, producing and writing for "Survival Anglia" series. He has written many books on wildlife for children. Wendy Meadway illustrated many natural history books, amongst them "Horses".
