Garfield's Guide to Drawing the World's Best-Looking Cat is a fun tutorial guide for drawing Garfield and friends. Due out 1st Sept 2020 from Lerner, it's 32 pages and will be available in paperback, library bound edition, and ebook formats.
This is a concise step by step tutorial featuring Garfield and associated characters. Aimed at younger artists, the text is easy to read and the drawing instructions are clear and accessible (though not comprehensive). The instruction starts with a tutorial of how to draw Garfield's face and head, and progresses through different poses up to composites with multiple characters in one drawing. Many of the drawing pages have finished drawings of Garfield with his snarky running commentary ("Nermal is so cute. I hate cute").
This would make a great selection for school or classroom libraries, as inspiration for a maker group, or a superlative gift for a young artist or reader, possibly bundled with some drawing materials to do their own stories.
