You will find, Rolfe, that one does not deal with Celaena Sardolthien. One survives her.

Yes, I am trying to survive her until the next installment of this awesome series. Many tears were shed as I read this book. This is it -- preparation for the end. This book is really intense at times, and so full of emotion. I was really overwhelmed at the end. In my heart, I know SJM will have this end well, but sitting and waiting for it to happen will be difficult.

It is not such hard thing, is it -- to die for your friends.

One thing I love about both SJM series is that her MCs have fantastic squads. Aelin has Aedion, Lysandra, Rowen, Dorian, and more (these were some of the best surprises). The way they cared for each other, fought for each other, would die for each other. Definite friend goals.

You are my Fireheart

This is the book, where Maas allowed many of her characters to come into their own, to claim their rightful place in the story. Lysandra hinted to her greatness in the last book, but here, we are treated to Lysandra full on. This version of Lysandra is incredible. That bond of friendship between her and Aelin solidifies and she goes above and beyond for her queen. And hey, if you the naysayers are not won over by Rowen in this book, I don't know what to say. He is just perfection in this book.

Even when this world is a forgotten whisper of dust between the stars, I will love you.

There were so many big reveals, my head was spinning. SJM's mind must be quite a wondrous place to be able to plan out so many different paths, that would eventually converge. I loved it! I will patiently wait for the next book, while my heart mends. Here's hoping this ends well.

693 devastating pages later I'm not sure how I'm going to make it to the last book. Sarah J Maas took Aelin to a new level in this book, proving her rightful place as Queen.

I loved how Aelin's band really came together. Bonded. Aeodin, Dorian and Lysandra might now always agree with Aelin's methods or her choices, but they stood behind her and proved they'd go to the ends of the earth for her.

The Fae were a question mark, but Gavriel, Faryns and even Lorcan discovered there was a reason so many were willing to get behind Aelin and her cause.

And then there was Rowan. When I first started reading this series, I wasn't sure if it was Dorian or Choal I wanted Aelin (Celaena back then) with. But now I know there is no other than Rowan. He may get mad when Aelin does something without his knowledge, but he knows where her heart lies and why she does what she does. He may not like it, but he will never force Aelin to be anyone other than who she is. I love that about him. And now, I can't wait to see just how far he'll go for her.

If you haven't picked up this series, you must. It's one of my all-time favorites. If you love a fantasy read with one kick-ass heroine, Throne of Glass is a series you must pick up.

Amazing. I seriously love every single thing about this book. To start, the plot and setting expands to incorporate a global view of the brewing war. Each story line is evenly divided between the various narrators. And let's slow clap to all of the incredibly daring and intelligent women in this novel. Aelin, Mannon, Elide, Lysandra - all of these women's arcs are extraordinarily written. The men provide an intelligence and power to the narrative, but they never usurp the women's power and intelligence. My one complaint lies with the world building. Previous novels should have spent more time building up a knowledge of the gods and goddesses of the world. I should not feel confused every time a god (or goddess) is mentioned, trying to remember if they existed outside of this one book.

tl;dr If you have enjoyed the series up to this point, you will not be disappointed in this installment.
