This book for young adults is hard hitting. It pulls no punches in discussing the death penalty, the electric chair, and various other ways that people have learned how to "legally" kill other people. The book covers a number of trials, some very straightforward and some almost shameful in the terrible way of using the system to sentence someone to death, and to execute them. The book does not try to suggest how the reader should feel, but does point out that since the death penalty is still in a legal limbo, it will be the young people of today who will make the final decision on whether or not this way of punishment will continue in the United States.
