Kevin Keegan started in professional football with Scunthorpe United the year England won the World Cup. He spent most of the 1970s playing for Liverpool and won every major honour there before dramatically moving to Hamburg where he was twice voted European Footballer of the Year. After stints at Southampton and Newcastle United, he quit the game in 1984. This biography recounts his return to Newcastle in 1992 as manager. His galvanizing ability to turn the club into a top-of-the-table side has been rewarded with an unprecedented 10-year contract. The book considers the ups and downs of running a major club, his relationships with players like Peter Beardsley and Andy Cole and his opinions of other players and fellow managers.
