The tale of an underdog tooth fairy who comes out on top by the author of "Guess How Much I Love You", which was shortlisted for the 1994 Kurt Maschler Award. Everybody in Oliver Sundew's town is very excited at the news that a perfect tooth has just come out in a faraway city. Why ? because Oliver"s town is a fairy town. Oliver wishes he could be part of the team that Mr Nimble Jay is taking to bring the tooth back, like his friends Cornpepper Rose and Henry B., and nasty Martin Goosegrass. But he knows he won't be chosen because he's got a damaged wing and can't fly as fast as the others. There's one thing Oliver Sundew is very good at, and that is swimming. This skill comes in surprisingly useful when someone is needed to dive into a glass of water to secure the tooth. Sam McBratney is the winner of a Bass Ireland Arts Prize and twice winner of the Bisto Children's Award. He has also written "Art, You're Magic", "The Green Kids", "Flash Eddie and the Big Bad Wolf" and "In Crack Willow Wood" (1995). Dom Mansell was runner-up for The Mother Goose Award for his illustrations in Oscar Wilde's "The Selfish Giant".
He has also illustrated "Judy the Bad Fairy" and his own story "My Old Teddy". Maschler Award)
