Annie on My Mind was a joyous read, taking me on a journey of two young adults falling in love with each other. I understand now why it's such a highly recommended LGBTQ+ classic novel: despite being set in 20th century America, the characters and story are timeless on their own. No specific dates are mentioned, and none are needed to ensure the story makes sense. You can kind of guess it on your own, if it's really important to you.

This so totally and completely holds up after all this time. The audio version is fantastic and I couldn't stop listening. I love the tension and back in forth between HS senior year and college freshman year.

The version I listened to even had an interview with the author which was great and I rarely listen to extras like that.

The bigotry pissed me off SO much with the "crazy" and the religious shit especially, and I almost died from second hand embarrassment, but the adorable, realistic love story is just...*melts*
