I was definitely confused about the premise of this book when I started it - I thought it was a thriller, but it's paranomal / sci-fi instead. I did get really wrapped up in it, though, despite my confusion. The concept of echoes versus a doppelganger or alternate dimension self is very interesting, and I enjoyed that. TW for lots of birds (some are a little unnerving), blood, and death.
