I really enjoyed this. I especially loved the relationships that developed ❤️. I’m a sucker for that stuff... even cried at one point haha.
It wasn’t as good as the first one... but I think that’s because I missed the characters from the first book!

I really did really like Maeve, Knox, & Phoebe... I thought that they were likable characters; I just think reading them one after another made me want more from the first book’s characters until I got to know these gems! And it was nice to see what the old crew was up to... those parts were the cherry on top

Another winner from McManus!I am a solid fan of her books, because she masterfully blends a compelling mystery with everyday teen life.

This sequel brings us back to Bayview, and though the Bayview four make multiple appearances throughout the story, the focus was on three new characters and a new killer, who was out for vengeance. Once again, secrets were revealed as Unknown led the teens of Bayview through a game of truth or dare. I loved the drama, the romance, and the surprises that were slowly revealed. I have grown to expect a nice little twist thrown in at the end, and I had a great time seeing if I was right or wrong. And, I was not surprised, when I was only half right. That's the beauty of McManus' books, and what keeps me coming back for more.

I have to say, she hit me in the feels a few times, but the best, most emotional moment for me, was a scene between Nate and Maeve. I believe a few tears escaped. It was really lovely and meaningful.

Overall: Another fantastic book from McManus!

This book left me saying OMG!! Dare I say I loved this more than OOUIL? I think because I already knew some of the characters (Maeve, Nate) and Bayview High, I already felt connected to them from page 1. I loved all the other POVs too (Phoebe, Knox). This sequel delivers on everything I wanted. With suspense and mystery that kept me guessing who was the killer until the very end! Cant wait for the next book by McManus!

First of all, major kudos to Karen and/or the publishing team for adding a short list of who everyone is at the beginning of the book. It did take me a few chapters to find my footing but the list really helped.

Once again, McManus wrote a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging read. It’s easy fall into step with the story and once you really get going in the story, you can’t walk away.

Thankfully the book doesn’t fall into the mistakes many sequels make. One Of Us Is Next acknowledges that One Of Us Is Lying exists. The story isn’t just a repeat of the previous book. We get an entirely new group of kids and and an even more dangerous game. The students are actively try to not make the same mistakes that were made months ago.

I love that our characters aren’t just sitting around waiting for someone to step in and do something. They decide to solve the mystery. The narrators (Knox, Phoebe, Maeve) are interesting but ultimately their voices started to sound the same.

Oh, that mystery was GOOD. The pacing picks up towards the end and I couldn’t stop reading. I could see the pieces falling into place. I was (mostly) correct with my prediction but McManus still managed get one twist on me.

All in all, super fun read.

I really enjoyed that. The twist at the end was wonderfully done, even if I was putting the pieces together from the start. McManus is getting to be such a good thriller writer!
