Recently, educators and other service professionals have exhibited renewed interest in developing programs that help underserved populations. However, the field of physical education has done little to provide alternative programs for working with these populations.The purpose of this issue of Quest is to broaden the reader's understanding of underserved populations and to clarify the role that physical education can play in revitalizing the futures of underserved youth.
