Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk are best known for remaking the traditional town as a viable alternative to suburban sprawl, under the moniker of New Urbanism. But they have also created a flourishing architectural practice that conices with their urban development projects. "DPZ" is the first comprehensive account of their built work-houses, multi-family residences, civec buildings and commercial structures, as well as their town planning projects-which has influenced a generation of practitioners.
The authors trace DPZ's work through 30 built projects. Each is beautifully illustrated through color photographs and drawings. Some of the projects included are Charleston Place, Cleveland's Shepherd Church, Florida City Town Hall, and the DPZ office in Miami's Little Havana. Lombard and Dunlop provide a critical overview of DPZ'S architecture in an introductory essay, "Craft, Theory, and Practice for the Millenium."
