Love in Lingerie was different. It was different because the author didn't focus on one specific period of time with this couple. Instead, we followed this couple and their relationship as it started as boss/employee to best friends to best friends who want something more to best friends figuring out what was more important in their lives.
I adored both characters but there was just something about Trey that dug itself into me. I loved the fact that he wouldn't cross his boundaries with Kate, even though he wanted to (often times desperately). First, it was because he truly believed she could help him turn his company around. But then it was because he was terrified of losing his best friend. I could sympathize with him and understood his unwillingness rock the boat and take away the one thing he couldn't live without....Kate.
Alessandra Torre books tend to leave me breathless. Her writing is beautiful and the characters she creates so wonderfully flawed. Love in Lingerie is one of those books that stays with you. A proof that you can get it right, even if it takes seven years to get there.
