'My photographs are made with the same sunlight that powers all the earth¹s living systems.'
With partner and collaborator Phillipa Jones, environmental photographer Martin L. Hill visits wild, sometimes remote locations to create works of art from natural materials found at each place, transforming and elevating the beauty of everyday items. Whether the top of a snow-covered mountain or the sand of a wind-blown beach, each of the sites is left in the state in which it is found. The result is a stunning array of more than 70 evocative photographs that represent a visual circle of life promoting ecological sustainability and responsibility.
Hill asks such concerns and questions as:
* Each day more solar energy falls to the earth than the total amount of energy the planet's six billion inhabitants would consume in twenty-five years.
* What use is a house if you haven¹t got a tolerable planet to put it on?
