Then again, I love this series so much, I'll have no problem buying and supporting it more. So there's no lose/lose here.
Issue #4 is the only story included in this first volume (in which Greg and Wirt are trying to build a dam/bridge to the mooooOooOon to appease a ghost). It also included some new stories (to me, at least!): Greg helps a frantic squirrel gather acorns for winter, and discovers a secret world of moles underground; A new character (!!, although I believe I read her story in some random issue I can't remember where ... ), Anna, who seems to be the woodcutter's daughter! who has lost her father and is trying to cope -- and who also meets a couple quirky characters along her path to recovery.
There's also a fantastic cover gallery in the back, which really sets me back into October, haha. Suddenly it doesn't feel like December! I shouldn't have read this now, but I couldn't resist!
I'm so, so glad these comics were created. They're really the most charming things I've ever read, and add so much to the original mini-series, too. I could, and will, read them over and over again.
