This series introduces early readers to the people who work at school and to the main events in the school year. There are two levels of text, one for children who are just starting to read and another for more advanced readers and teachers. This illustrated book looks at the day of a fete in a primary school and the range of activities that take place. These include the egg and spoon races, tug of war and sack races, amusements such as a bouncing castle and swings, and side stalls and raffles to raise money for the school. Diana Bentley has written a series of Bible stories plus several books for teachers including "The How and Why of Readability". She is also a consultant for Ginn Reading 360: 9-13 and a language consultant to the ITV "Once upon a Time" programme.
