Tells the exciting story of a team of committed Christians who attempt to identify and reach the source of the Yangtze River in China. Their task was to bring primary health care and a crucial inoculation programme to the isolated peoples along the upper Yangtze. Only hovercraft can travel over the rapid-strewn, boulder-ridden, shallow and unpredictable waters of the Tibetan plateau. Led by Squadron Leader Michael Cole OBE - veteran of several pioneering hovercraft expeditions, the team share their hopes and fears, their successes and failures, and their faith as they face scientific, engineering and logistical challenges against the backdrop of China's extravagant beauty. Chief pilot for the expedition, the author, Squadron Leader Dick Bell is also a Director of a Christian conference centre in Devon. He is co-author of "Amazon Task Force", the story of the hovercraft expedition to the Peruvian Andes.
