From the start we realize what a special man Kris Kringle is. There is more to this man, than a bearded figure in red who drives a sled. Kris champions the elves, who are slaves and treated as little more than animals. Kris comes to their rescue as they are discriminated against by the "humans". Soon he creates a bond with the Elves that will last for centuries.

This story has so many themes that run through it...
