This is the Psalter for recitation on a weekly cycle. The Liturgia Horarum is too short, but Matins of the older Breviaries too long. Saint Benedict said another cycle may be used, as long as 150 psalms were said in a week, so I came up w/this, for use w/either of the older breviaries, or the Liturgy of the Hours. Antiphons, readings, verses and prayers may be taken (or not) from the breviary of choice. The version is the Douay. I divided only 2 psalms, and gave the hours of Matins, Lauds and Vespers about 80 verses each, the little hours getting around 30 verses. Compline follows the Monastic arrangement, w/only Ps 90. The prayers, hymn and verses of Compline are in Latin. Except for Psalms 94 at Matins, 66 at Lauds, & 90 at Compline, there is no repetition of psalms. They are in numerical order. I have not used festal psalms, to avoid the issue of unbalancing the weekly cycle with frequent Solemnities and Feasts.
