Curt Wilde is seventeen-years-old falls for his swimming buddy, Josh Baltic. While attending a party at the Cemetery Club, a local hangout, Curt learns that Josh is also curious about his skin. The two friends share heated boy-bliss that leads into a tragedy between fools. Curt struggles to overcome Josh's suicide. Once he attends group therapy sessions with Dr. Yull, Curt meets Bradley Goode. As Curt struggles through his state of grieving, he soon learns that friends like Bradley are hard to come by, especially when they help with family problems and turn into sweet boyfriends. Unpredictable dramas happen in life, though. Curt is dumped by Bradley and begins the grieving process over again. Bee Breen, his best friend, is on a rampage about Tommy Trap, her boyfriend, and Lead, Curt's older brother is sent to The Fern Hill Home in Samoy, New York because of mental illness. Attempting to reach a new level of sanity, Curt tries to be good to Bradley again and creates a real life for himself.
