This work is an interactive computer program developed for museums and non-profit film institutions in celebration of Alfred Hitchcock's centenary in 1999. Much of the material gathered here can ordinarily be found only in special collections, such as the Department of Film and Video at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Hitchcok Collection in the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hill, and the archives of the British Film Institution in London. Additional resources come from generous contributions of their work by renowned film scholars and popular critics. This program includes numerous clips from Hitchcock's films themselves, and from films and television shows that were influenced by the work of The Master, courtesy of major entertainment corporation in the United States, England, and France, and with gracious support and encouragement from Pat Hitchcok O'Connell and the Alfred Hitchcok Trust. This book designed to provide immediate, convenient and entertainment access to invaluable research material on the director, his films and his career should be of interests to movie fans, directors and film scholars alike.
