This is my first read by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, but I didn’t feel lost jumping into the series at book three. I will let a little secret out of the bag because this is revealed in the first chapter, but the Sydney Lucas described in the blurb is actually Georgie Walton. Georgie is Henry’s shy little sister. She’s out to prove to her family that she can help running the family business. What is the best way to do that? Go undercover and become an intern at a company she and her family own.

Georgie, with the help of her friend Abi, gets an internship working for Nick Brooks, the VP of sales at a pharmaceutical company called PVP. She’s told Nick is the biggest bastard there ever was, but he gets results. Georgie is full of nerves, but somehow makes it through her first day as Sydney Lucas, PVP intern.

Nick Brooks is an asshole. Period. First impressions don’t often change for me, but Pamfiloff does a one eighty with this guy you’ll never see coming. I ended up absolutely loving him by the end of the book and hope he returns with Georgie if/when the series continues.

This book is written in the first person point of view of Georgie and goes back and forth in time between the present and four months earlier. A traumatic event occurs and needs to be told in that past timeframe, so I didn’t mind the time jumping at all.

Digging a Hole was a funny, sexy read that I devoured in less than a day. If you’re in the mood for a romance with twist, turns, and comedy of errors galore, this novel is the one for you!

Now I've been a fan of Mimi's books since her King trilogy, those are constant re-reads of mine. And for the life of me, I have no idea why I fell into this series so late! Whenever I read one of her books, I literally just sit there and ponder about how the heck she comes up with this stuff?! Like, this story went in a completely different direction than I originally thought, but I loved every bit of it!

One of my absolute favorite things in this book was the personal journey that Sydney goes on. She was quiet and meek, never really standing up for herself, but the entire time you know that she has so much to stay. She's an absolutely beautiful and smart woman, and I wholly appreciated that Nick Brooks, the a-hole boss, forces her to leave her shy tendencies at bay. And brings forth the fierce woman that she truly is. In Nick's case, one not to be trifled with.

Once she was able to finally start speaking up for herself, it brought so many hilarious moments when it came to Nick, her a-hole boss. But no matter what, he always seemed to know what she was up to. Bit of a mystery there, eh?

This was an awesome enemies to lovers story. Sparks and tension were flying from the very beginning, but I loved witnessing it unfold little by little. You'll enjoy watching Nick's demeanor change around Sydney because he can't be an a-hole forever especially when it comes to Sydney.

I'm forever a fan of Mimi's work, her stories are unique and 100% entertaining! Now I need to go back and read the rest of this series!
