Summary:
Aster has always been surrounded by magic. His family is made of shapeshifters and witches. Unfortunately, some strong traditions limit his access to these gifts. For one thing, all the men are expected to become shapeshifters, and the women are witches. No exceptions.
Not only can Aster not shift, he doesn't really care to. He'd much rather learn the magic his sisters, cousins, and aunties know. But that is forbidden, so he has to do it in secret – frequently getting caught during his attempts.

The Witch Boy is such a sweet and delightful read. If you love magic and themes such as finding oneself, this book is for you! Best of all? This is but the first in a series, so there's plenty more to come.
Aster is one of those characters that readers can instantly fall in love with. He's sweet, introverted, and he knows what he loves. More specifically, he loves magic and won't let familial pressure talk him down.
I loved reading about the magical system of the family, including their history, magical abilities, and even their magical misconceptions. It was such a creative world full of social commentary and compelling moments. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this series has to offer!
